On July 26th, The Independence Center celebrated our 3rd annual ADA celebration luncheon with members of the community and numerous consumers from The IC. Team members told stories of their experiences working to improve the lives of the consumers who they serve, and the audience left with a better understanding of the meaningful work that takes place every day at The IC.

Mayor John Suthers of Colorado Springs spoke about the significant progress that has been made in the Pikes Peak region as relates to the Americans with Disabilities Act, then presented awards to five local organizations, on behalf of The IC, for their exceptional efforts in advancing the goals of the ADA in our region.

At The Independence Center, we are proud of progress made in the ongoing battle to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, and wish to give thanks to those organizations and individuals who have fought alongside with us over the past thirty years. Below, you will find a series of photos and a video from the luncheon.
