CNA Training Program Enrollment

Per the Executive Order by Governor Polis on March 18, 2020, nurse aide training programs can, for the time being, complete the required clinical portion of training via simulation or in house instead of at a facility. Once a student is found proficient and completed theory, lab and in house/simulated clinical, the student will need to apply for a temporary license with the State and will be permitted to work in a hospital or in-patient facility while they wait to take the exam. Per Board Policy 10-07 nurse aide training graduates can work for 120 days as a CNA while they wait to take and pass the state exam. This 120 days/4 months should be enough time to get testing back up and running. Please be advised the State testing agency, Pearson VUE has currently suspended all testing until further notice.

The Independence Center CNA Training Program will continue our training program with this new guidance. However, we will also be diligent to follow the guidance from the Center for Disease Control, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment and El Paso Public Health regarding social distancing, disinfecting protocols and monitoring the health of our instructors and students. Please note that at this time, all CNA Training students are required to provide a face mask, to be worn while at the CNA Training Program. A cloth mask is an acceptable alternative to a traditional medical mask. Please reach out to The Independence Center CNA Training Program at 719-648-1020 with any questions.
