Learn how to cook complete, healthy meals. Some skills learned in cooking will include: basic familiarity with the general layout of the kitchen, using a microwave, cooking and completing healthy meals, operating an oven, operating a stove, operating a sink, refrigerator basics, and the importance of good personal hygiene in the kitchen.
When: 2nd Thursday in February from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
Week One – Kitchen Etiquette: Learn how to show respect and do the right thing around the kitchen.
Week Two – All About Nutrition: Learn the basics of nutrition and how to make better choices.
Week Three – Meal Planning/Healthy Choices/Budgeting: Learn how to plan healthy meals on a budget.
Week Four – Microwave Cooking: Learn how to operate and cook simple meals in the microwave.
Week Five – Stovetop Cooking: Learn how to operate and prepare meals on the stovetop.
Week Six – Oven Cooking: Learn how to operate and prepare meals in the oven.
