Interpreting Conversations and Personality: Why WHO We Are Affects WHAT We Say
Presenter, Rebecca Buchan, MA, CI, CT, IIC
Only $100 for the two-day workshop
August 19, 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm; August 20, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Through foundational information and discussions, workshop participants will learn about the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) basics and how it applies to themselves and their co-workers. Further exploration into the intersections between personality and the world of interpreting as well as professional dialogues will lead participants into a deeper understanding of how interpreters interact in both the Deaf and Interpreting communities. The MBTI not only gives workshop participants a shared language to use while discussing personality, characteristics and behaviors, but it also better equips interpreters for professional interactions.
