Veteran In Charge Program

A Veteran Directed Care (VDC) Program

Are you a veteran with a disability who wants to live more independently? The Veteran In Charge (VIC) program* is Veteran-directed and serves eligible Veterans of any age who want to remain living in their home and community for as long as possible.

Through the VIC program, Veterans work with one of The IC’s Veteran coaches to plan and manage VA-funded supports and services, such as:

  • Assistive devices
  • Environmental support
  • Meal delivery
  • Transportation
  • Emergency response system
  • In-home personal care
  • Homemaker services
  • Caregiver support
  • Home modifications
  • Adult day care

Take Charge of Your Independence

“Veteran directed” means you have more control over:

WHAT services, supports, and goods you need.

WHO provides those services and supports.

WHEN, WHERE & HOW the services and supports are provided.

HOW MUCH you pay for them.
