MEDICAID TRANSPORTATION

Provides for Medicaid recipients who need transportation to doctor appointments. Doctor will need to fill out form to determine need. Bus fare or mileage reimbursement thru medicaid. If denied you can appeal. Call the Independence Center for more information if denied.

Provides a 50% reduced fare bus card for persons with disabilities who rely on the bus system for transportation. Eligibility is provided regardless of income. A doctor, registered nurse, caseworker or independent living specialist must sign applications. Bus cards are issued Monday through Friday,

8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Replacements cards cost $1.00 each. Two only in one calendar year

METRO MOBILITY

They provide transportation in special vans for persons with disabilities who are unable to use fixed route city bus services. You must first complete an application and be certified eligible. They provide curb-to-curb service as designated by the client. Reservations must be made by 5:00 pm the day before, but longer advance notice (two weeks) is helpful. Subscription service (there may be a waiting list) is available to riders with regular schedules.

In town fare is $3.00 one-way and $4.00 one-way outside of city limits. Boundaries for service are Old Ranch Road on the north, Peterson Road on the east, C&S Road on the south, and Manitou Springs Road on the west. Service is 6:00 am to 6:15 pm, Monday through Friday. Next day and same day service is provided for specific urgent needs. By showing your ADA certified rider card, you can ride the public bus free of charge.

 

MOUNTAIN METRO

Provides public transportation with reduced fares for students, children, disabled and senior citizens. All buses are disability accessible in Colorado Springs, Security, Fountain, Widefield, and Manitou Springs. Buses operate between Monday through Friday 6:00am – 6;15pm,. Basic Fares are $1.85 and $.75 for persons with disabilities with a reduced fare bus card. Call for schedules.

New Service: Manitou Summer SHUTTLE. A Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) circulator bus will be added in downtown Manitou Springs. This service is funded through a federal grant awarded to the City of Manitou Springs. The route will help alleviate parking congestion near the Cog Railway and the Manitou Incline. The Summer service, pending final FTA approval, will start on 5/19/2013 and end on 9/07/2013. There will be no fare due to the short route and the availability of federal grant funding. The route will operate along Manitou Avenue, between Old Man’s Trail and Ruxton Avenue, and connect to the Cog Railway Incline area. From 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Evening Service on Key Routes: Due to additional 2013 funds being appropriated by the City of Colorado Springs, some limited evening Mountain Metropolitan Transit services will be added. The extended services will help more citizens connect back home from jobs that end later in the day. Hourly service will bw added to MMT’s higher volume routes between the current end of service day to approximately 9:45 pm on weekdays. The routes that originate at the Downtown Transfer Station will have their last departure at 9:15 pm. (versus the current last trip at 6:15 pm)

ROUTE 10: Hwy 115 – Pikes Peak Community College (Note: only one departure will be added from the downtown transfer station at 6:45 pm and it will terminate at the Pikes Peak Community College at 7:08 pm)

ROUTE 11: World Arena – Pikes Peak Community College

ROUTE 25: Academy Blvd (Note: Route 25 will meet the last evening Route 5 and Route 7 arrivals at the Citadel Transfer Station.The last scheduled Route 25 departurefrom the Citadel Transfer Station will be at 9:44 pm)

TAXI VOUCHER: A limited taxi voucher option for existinmg ADA paratransit will be added for Metro Mobility customers who meet certain trip criteria and who are interested in taking advantage of this option. Riders will pay the equivalent $3.50 existing ADA Metro Mobility fare for trips in a private taxi up to 7 milesone way. No riders will lose ADA Metro Mobility service, rather, this is an additional service option. The option is being added as away to ptomote independence and help control costs.
