Paratransit services with ADA certified eligibility requirements. Offers door to door service for the handicapped at $3.00 per trip. Wheelchair lifts on vehicles.Call at least 24 hours in advance. (Two weeks notice is recommended).

 

MEDICAID TRANSPORTATION

Provides for Medicaid recipients who need transportation to doctor appointments. Doctor will need to fill out form to determine need. Bus fare or mileage reimbursement thru medicaid. If denied you can appeal. Call the Independence Center for more information if denied.

 

DISABLED BUS CARD

Provides a 50% reduced fare bus card for persons with disabilities who rely on the bus system for transportation. Eligibility is provided regardless of income. A doctor, registered nurse, caseworker or independent living specialist must sign applications. Bus cards are issued Monday through Friday,

8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Replacements cards cost $1.00 each. Two only in one calendar year

METRO MOBILITY

Metro Mobility provides transportation in vans designed for persons with disabilities who are unable to use fixed route city bus services. You must first complete an application and be certified eligible. They provide curb-to-curb service, and one-way fares are $3.50.

Mountain Metro provides public transportation with reduced fares for students, children, people with disabilities, and senior citizens. All buses are accessible for individuals with disabilities in Colorado Springs, Security, Fountain, Widefield, and Manitou Springs. Buses operate Monday through Friday 5:30am – 9:45pm, Saturday 6:30am – 7:00pm, and Sunday 7:30am – 6:00pm. Basic fares are $1.75 and $.85 for individuals with disabilities who have a reduced fare bus card.
