Job Exploration Class (DVR)

The Job Exploration Class provides skills necessary to help individuals identify career options they may want to pursue in the future.  These sessions are designed to give an in-depth look at a variety of career fields and options.

 

Session 1: What is the difference between a job and a career?

Session 2:  Career/Vocational assessment

Session 3:  Career/Vocational assessment review

Session 4:  What is a goal and how do you develop a goal?

Session 5:  Developing a career road map

Session 6:  How can you plan successfully?

Session 7:  Charting your career path

Session 8:  Exploring and developing career clusters

Session 9:  Building a Career Board

Session 10:  Vocational occupations and Areas overview: Agriculture, Business/Office, Marketing and Distribution, Health Services, Home economics, Technical education, Trade and Industry

Session 11 & 12:  Agriculture overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 13 & 14:  Business/Office overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 15 & 16:  Marketing and Distribution overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 17 & 18:  Health Services overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 19 & 20:  Home Economics overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 21 & 22:  Technical Education overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 23 & 24:  Trade and Industry overview, activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 25 & 26:  Non-traditional Careers overview and activity, and career exploration in the community

Session 27:  Completing Career Boards

Session 28:  Individual Career skill assessment: Do I have what I need? How do I get there? How can I build my skill levels? What is my support system for my career path choice?

Session 29 & 30:  Career Board sharing and activity and graduation (bring your support system)
