Our Assistive Technology department helps people in the d/Deaf & hard of hearing community get access to the assistive technologies they need to communicate freely and live independently.
Need a one-on-one class?
Accessible Gaming & Computer Lab
This lab is staffed by our Assistive Technology specialists who help consumers become familiar and comfortable with the use of Guide, Zoom Text Fusion (a combinations of JAWS & Zoom Text), Dolphin screen-reader software, and OpenBook (for converting printed materials into speech or larger format text). Additionally, our specialists are available to help educate consumers on the use of iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Samsung tablets.
The gaming portion of the Lab features an Xbox Series S and a Playstation 5, both with adaptive controllers designed to be easily used by people with varying degrees of mobility.
These services are available at no charge for IC Consumers. If you are not yet a Consumer, a simple intake appointment is all that is needed!
